Randy Jackson is leaving "American Idol." Jackson, who has served as judge on the Fox singing competition since the show's first season announced Thursday he won't be back for a 13th season.
Randy says "Idol" has been a life-changing opportunity but he's now looking forward to focusing on his company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures. The statement comes on the heels of a report from "The Wrap" that suggested all four "American Idol" judges would be facing the firing squad.
The fate on the show's other current judges - Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban - is still unknown.
Jackson is the only original judge remaining from "Idol's" first season. The original panel also included Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.
