Englewood Veteran Gives Free Food and Supplies to those in the Community

Over in Englewood a young navy veteran is returning home with aims to help out his neighborhood. Dion Dawson, an Englewood native, returned from 5 years in the navy with a big dream, this dream came into fruition with his new nonprofit “Dion’s Chicago Dream”.

Located at West 57th street and Racine Avenue, Dion offers fresh fruit, vegetables, and water to anyone who is in need. It is just the beginning of his dream for helping the community, but it is a welcome gift for those who need it the most and for those who might go hungry without him.

One of his major plans is to open up a community center in the neighborhood, intended to help anyone in need of a workspace or a place to inspire others so they can achieve their dreams. If you want to know more about “Dion’s Chicago Dream” and how to help out, head on over to the main article here. Thank you, Dion, for helping your community, and all the best luck to you in making a change for the better!
