Warming Centers Around Chicago

While snow may be on all of our minds in the past couple days, I want to take the time to remind you that it is still very cold outside, pushing zero and below. That why right now I am going to be telling you about the many warming centers around the city.

All 74 Chicago public libraries will be operating as worming centers during regular hours, this also includes all available Chicago Park District Buildings with limited operations on weekends. Police Departments will be acting as 24/7 warming centers. The City is encouraging residents to provide any needed assistance to neighbors, family members, the elderly and most vulnerable, and if you need help to call 311.

The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services is also co-ordinating community-based outreach teams to engage with the homeless and help transfer them to warming areas as well as also provide coats, blankets, gloves, and more.

If you want to know more about the warming centers, how to help your neighbors, or how to help out the homeless as we work through this winter, head on over to the main article here for more information. Stay warm out there Chicago.
