Austin Banks has Big Plans for its Remodel

Over in Austen, a vacant West Side back is getting ready to be developed into a new cultural hub. Over on 5200 W Chicago Avenue, the Laramie Street Bank is being redeveloped into a Cafe, Business Incubator, and Museum.

This new redevelopment is the anchor for the investments and revitalization efforts in Austin, as part of the cities INVEST South/West Program. The Bank which has been closed since 2012 will be the starting point for a new mixed housing development, a park, a courtyard, and several public art installations.

The museum will also be a museum celebrating the history of Chicago Blues relative to the area. If you want to know more about the positive changes coming to the Austin area and what else is in the works to be built there, head on over to the main article here.
