New Art is Coming to the CTA!

Get ready for some new public art Chicago! The CTA has announced the commission of 6 new pieces of public art as part of their reconstruction of the Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, and Bryn Mawr Red line stations.

What makes this even better for the city though is that the CTA is asking Artists from all backgrounds and around the city to submit applications to make the new public art. Applications will be accepted until April 1st and the finalists will be selected between August and September.

The CTA has shown a growing interest in public art , and the number of permanent installations have almost doubled in the past 10 years, which has added up to over 70 pieces of art across the city. The most recent public art installations were unveiled last year at the Western and Addison stations on the Blue Line.
